okay, today my webhost was hacked, and the fucking webhosting provider couldnt figure it out. well i did, anyway, it wasnt against FTS but tekagis.com which is one of the main sites i host. regardless, this is the post i made on teks

Today, we have experienced a hack on the webserver, this was a DDOS Hack, basically just requesting data from our server over and over again untill it crashed. The webhost was completely unhelpful in this endeavor, and we will be switching hosts soon because of this.

A DDOS hack seemed to be announced today by people on the server, the information that i have about the attack is as such:

IP: 78.190.21.131
Location: Istanbul, Turkey

this data is probably from a proxy server but I figured I would post it anyway. A DDOS attack is the lamest type of hack possible, it requires absolutely no skill, just simply requesting pages so often that it crashes the server. Its basically a wuss way out, less than script kiddies. So if you tried this and you are the one doing it, your a pussy (sorry for language, but i dont care)

Anyway, Rags and others have had a member on the gaming server today talking about hacking, and I assume its related, so he can post any and ALL details of this pussy hack.

P.S. I know its a family server, and my language is on the line, but COME ON! im really getting tired of these little kids who feel the need to do crappy kiddie hacks on the server. I am not here 24/7 and didnt notice it untill later.

sorry to everyone, its not my fault i promise

Hi mckooter, i live next door to Ragman and i was aware of the little problem he had with a certain person.

Its so sad that Ppl think they being big and funny by doing things like that, they need to get a life.

Thanks for fixing the problem:sign0096::sign0096:

Wouldn't it require a network of computers working together to launch an effective DDOS attack against a webserver?

I can't imagine that one twisted individual without botnet access could bring down a server from his home pc.

Dai, you would only need a home network of say three or four PC's to be able to do that - I have a network of four PC's in the house (I know its excessive for 2 people but it saves arguments when the kids come to stay!) I cant be the only one for sure??

I don't agree Gus. Your typical web server is able to easily handle over 100 connection attempts per second before it starts to fall over. They're designed and built to cope with this sort of level.

To exceed the safe maximum via a PING or SYN attack requires the concentrated efforts of many computers.
